Puppets Elora brings the puppet theatre experience of by-gone days to the Wellington County Museum with a short play for all ages and a workshop for ages 5 and up.
A traditional Punch-and-Judy style theatre will be the stage for the troupe's beautiful hand-made puppets, as they perform one of Puppets Elora's popular folk-tale adaptations.
Following the 20-minute show, the action will move to the Museum Sunroom for a one-hour workshop, where participants will learn how socks, household scraps, a little glue, and some creative inspiration can be the basis for puppet theatre. Participants will leave with their own mouth puppet and a willingness to talk with their hands!

Bangkok ProjectThe Bangkok Project
October 2 – 13 in Elora, on the bridge
The Bangkok Project will occur over the duration of Sensational Elora. This project is an exciting collaboration between Julie Rene de Cotret a local artist and Jung-Chul Hur an established video artist working out of Bangkok.. The Bangkok Project features a recording of the day skies of Bangkok, which will be projected onto the Grand River from the bridge at night. If you could see through the earth it might look like this. The installation will start after dark, weather permitting, and shut off at an appropriate time.

Eleven Pieces in Eleven Days
– an exploration of the senses in metal, clay and glass.
The six feature artists of Styll Gallery will exhibit 11 pieces created specifically for the Sensational Elora Festival. Each work will engage the public by speaking to the senses. In addition to the works on display, the artists will be featured in a video loop, depicting the creative process.

Monster Month
October is time for the ghoulish monsters to return to downtown Elora for Monster Month. The Elora BIA is promising a wildly-decorated downtown and monster specials at local businesses. Monster master Tim Murton will be offering spider-making workshops.

Neighbourwoods’ Poetree
A built “tree” will be “planted” in a public place. “Leaves” will be available for people to write Poems, Earth Messages, Five Word Obituaries (life summations) or other sentiments. These leaves will then be hung on the branches of the tree, sending thoughts to the Universe. This will be a permanent installation for the duration of Sensational Elora.
