CELEBRATION OF THE SENSES GALA
On Thursday, October 2nd at 7:00 PM, something sensational is coming your way in the form of the Celebration of the Senses Gala. This is your opportunity to taste all that is coming during the eleven days of the Festival.
Our Executive Chef, Drew Renelt, of The Queen’s Bush Bistro, is preparing a menu of sensational tastes that will be augmented by various dishes from local restaurants. These incredible taste treats will be served at food stations and passed by servers.
There will be something for everyone from snippets of stories from Older Voices, to the sultry song styling’s of Karen Kirkwood and Indigo Riff. We will be spotlighting young local talent throughout the evening and we should have a surprise or two for you as well.
Guests will be greeted with a glass of bubbly, a wonderful way to start the evening. A special feature of the Gala will be the Empty Glasses Wine Tasting. Following in the footsteps of Empty Bowls created by potters, local area glass blowers will create dram cups to be used for wine tasting at the gala. The Opimium Society has donated the wines for the tasting and all proceeds will go to the Food Bank. In addition, there will be a Scotch tasting featuring various interesting Single Malt Scotches, a Martini Bar par excellence, and non-alcoholic choices as well.
The Community Centre will be dressed to the nines and will be filled to the brim with art, craft and so much more. There will be paintings and photographs and film all available to view and some to purchase. Sophie Hogan’s newly-published book “My Elora: The Grace of Belonging” will be available as will Sophie who will autograph your personal copy.
Shelley Carter, our very own Witchy Woman, will be on hand to do tarot card readings. For a small fee she will answer your questions and you will be amazed at how accurate her readings are.
We can’t tell you everything that is going to happen – we have to keep some things under our hats but we can promise you a terrific evening of food and drink and music. Come with old friends and be prepared to meet new ones.
