Short Cuts to the Senses: An International Film Festival
Sensational Elora: Festival of the Senses is inviting submissions for an exciting new international short film festival that celebrates the unique sights, sounds, arts, foods and physical heritage of small and large communities everywhere.
Designed to utilize widely available and easily accessible video equipment, communications platforms and social networks, Short Cuts to the Senses aims to encourage wide participation by budding digital film-makers and socio-cultural commentators everywhere. It is hoped that the festival will foster a better understanding and respect for the unique culture and senses of others, finding common ground, purpose and strength in our diversity. Theme
Submissions should portray unique community features of sights, sounds, food, arts and heritage that make a compelling story about your community.
How to Participate
Submissions must be a short feature or documentary film, edited or unedited, running less than 5 minutes. Any type of video equipment can be used, and only 1 (one) entry will be accepted per person. There is no entry fee.
Entries will be judged by a diverse jury using on-line social networks in real time. Finalists’ works will be screened during Sensational Elora: A Festival of the Senses, at special show at the Gorge Cinema on Sunday, October 3rd, 2010, and posted for worldwide viewing on the Sensational Elora web site.

Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to best short feature, best documentary and most promising young (under 16) film-maker.
Rules and Regulations
1. Persons submitting work must be either the authors of such work or have legal authority or exclusive rights to showcase the original work on behalf of the author at the Sensational Elora: Festival of the Senses – Short Cuts to the Senses International Film Competition.
2. The film maker or his/her authorized agent grants Sensational Elora: Festival of the Senses the rights to review, screen, judge the film in whole or in part from the time of submission until the end of the Festival. Furthermore, the author grants permission to Sensational Elora: Festival of the Senses to use clips of original films submitted for the purpose of promoting the Festival and the Short Cuts to the Senses film competition.
3. Preference in judging will be given to original work produced in the past year.
