The Twilight Zoo monsters need a permanent, safe home, and our community can make it happen! Join us for a Trivia Night and help raise funds to help us build six secure shipping container homes for these beloved sculptures.

Teams of 4-6 welcome! There will be prizes, a silent auction, and a special opportunity for monster mingling! Gather your friends for spooky fun and friendly competition.

Monster Month in Elora is a signature annual event.  It brings people together, drives foot traffic to local businesses, and creates a playful, memorable experience for residents and visitors.

At the heart of Monster Month is the Twilight Zoo, more than 140 sculptures created by artist Tim Murton. These remarkable creatures are the soul of the festival. They are Monster Month in Elora. Sensational Elora is responsible for the care and housing of this extraordinary menagerie.  Now, we need to seek community support to keep them safe.

Over the years, storage for the monsters has been improvised in locations less than ideal, resulting in damage and time-consuming repairs. Our current location has costly rent, damp conditions, and wildlife visitors. These beloved creatures need permanent, safe, weatherproof, and wildlife-proof storage. 

Wellington County has generously provided space at the Elora Garage facility for a token yearly rental fee for the installation of six 40-foot shipping containers to house the monsters. We are deeply grateful for this remarkable gesture. It is a true game-changer for the future of Monster Month.

Through careful fiscal management, Sensational Elora has established a fund to support the creation of permanent monster housing. However, the one-time costs for this project exceed our current resources. Costs: Purchase of 6 shipping containers including delivery, building permit application fees, Engineer design fees for building permit application, creation of concrete strip footings, anchors and tie downs. 

Through the “Contain the Monsters” fundraising campaign, we hope to raise the additional funds needed to make this new home possible.  

Our community will play a key role in this effort. We are hosting a Trivia Night fundraiser at the Elora Legion on April 10th to raise funds toward our ultimate goal. We are also inviting local businesses and community supporters to partner with us in raising the funds needed to purchase and install the containers.

Our ultimate goal: $20,000.
